Sea King Families,

I hope your summer is restful and everyone is enjoying time off with your families.  Every new school year brings excitement in anticipation of watching our students learn and grow as emerging adults.  We will watch them forge new relationships, ignite creativity, excel athletically, and work hard in the classroom to ensure their future self is prepared for any challenge that they may encounter.  I am very excited to lead Palos Verdes Intermediate School and am grateful for the opportunity.  Every PVIS teacher, student, and parent I have met has been welcoming and positive which is just another example of what makes this school so great!

Thank you to all the Sea King families that have extended a warm welcome to me.  I want to wish every student and family a successful school year.

Meanwhile, here are important dates to remember:


PVIS REGISTRATION
Online registration begins on August 1, 2019.
There will be no formal registration day at school.


SCHOOL OFFICE OPENS
Monday, August 19th
8:15 am - 4 pm

Prior to the first day of school you may turn in the Aeries Emergency Card (signed/dated), Carpool Form and Tdap verification for 7th Graders.


ASB STUDENT STORE
August 19th - 23rd
8:15 am - 4 pm
Purchase and pick up PE clothes, padlocks and agenda books.
For faster service please complete an order form before your arrival.  A link for the downloadable order form will be provided after completing this packet.


SCHEDULES & LOCKER NUMBERS RELEASED
Wednesday, August 21st
Please go to the Aeries parent portal for schedules and locker numbers.


TEXTBOOK CHECKOUT BEFORE SCHOOL STARTS
August 20th - 22nd
8 am - 1 pm

Students can pick up their textbooks in the library.


6th GRADE ORIENTATION and
NEW FAMILIES' TOUR & FAQ with the PRINCIPAL

Thursday, August 22nd
8 am - 12:30 pm

(MPR; Pizza Lunch will be served)

6th Graders & Parents:  To help make 6th graders' transition from elementary school to middle school a positive one.  8th graders will serve as leaders and mentors.
New Families & Parents of 6th Graders:  Begin in the school library at 8:15 am with Micah Farrell, PVIS principal.
All Grades:  ASB locks, PE clothes and agenda books available for pick up.


FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL
Wednesday, August 28th
8:15 am - 12:15 pm
(Minimum Day)

Please have your student turn in to their 3rd period teacher the Aeries Emergency Card (signed/dated).

ONLINE REGISTRATION

IMPORTANT NOTE BEFORE STARTING:  Welcome to the PVIS registration packet, which contains all the registration forms for PTSA, Booster Club and PEF. 

Most of our forms auto populate your information to save time and reduce repetition. In order to use this feature, you must do one of the following:

1. Log into your account to the right  OR
2. Create an account with
MemberPlanet - a free service provided by the PVIS PTSA.

WHAT IF I MAKE A MISTAKE ON A FORM AND WANT TO CORRECT IT?
• Click on the blue "Return to full summary" link in the top left corner (found on each page) to return to the Registration Packet Cover Page.
• Click on the gear icon to the right of the page that you want to change and follow the instructions.


HOW MAY I PAY?
CREDIT/DEBIT CARD or E-CHECKS are the preferred method of payment for MemberPlanet online registration. 
If you prefer to make a CHECK PAYMENT, then please select "Pay-by-mail" in the payment section.  Then bring to the school office a check payable to either "PVIS PTSA" or "PVIS Booster Club" depending on the items purchased.  In the memo section please be sure to include your student's name/grade and purchase description.

REFUNDS: If you need a refund or are confused about a transaction, please reach out to:

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION EMAIL?
You must complete the "REVIEW AND SUBMIT" page at the end of the packet to complete the registration process.  This is the final step of the online packet.  All "submitted" pages will be permanent once you press "Submit" on this step.

HOW DO I KNOW IF I HAVE COMPLETED THE ONLINE PACKET?
Once completed, you will receive (1) an email receipt for any items purchased, as well as (2) a thank you confirmation email that states you have completed the registration.  If you do not receive an email, please check your junk mail folder.
