Located on the shores of Lake Michigan in Highland Park, IL since 1935, the NSYC is an affordable membership organization for Sailors, Kayakers, Power Boaters, and Stand Up Paddlers, who enjoy boating and fun social events.  We are a volunteer organization and open to residents of all communities. See our lively boating community for yourself - NSYC Welcome Video

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
Construction Project began Sep 6, 2022.  Access to NSYC & equipment is restricted. The boat launch ramp is closed. Construction is due to be complete and the boat launch ramp open by Memorial Day Weekend 2023. For update click here.

To be an active member of the North Shore Yacht Club, you will likely incur these costs:
>> Membership Dues.  Click What does Membership Cost
>> Parking Permits for Park Ave. Boating Facility. These are available from the Park District. For costs ($150), etc., click here.  To purchase click here.
>> Class Fees. Before being approved to use Club-owned:
   > KAYAKS, you are REQUIRED to take:
      Introduction to Kayaking class  (per person)   $60
         Note:  Minimum age for kayaks is 13.
   > SAILBOATS, you MAY be required to take:  
      Adult Sailing Lessons - 7 Sessions
         First Household Member.   $215  (Must purchase Full Membership)
         Each additional student in same household:   $355
  > STAND UP PADDLE BOARDS, you MAY be required to take: 
     SUP / Paddle Boarding Lessons (per person)     $55
 
In addition, all NSYC-owned watercraft users are required to pass a Skills, Swim & Safety Competency Assessment for each type of boat (sail, kayak, SUP) prior to use, and sail/paddle with a buddy in like craft. 

NSYC adheres to all current Illinois and local health and safety guidelines.
