Summary:
Texas Eastern Transmission experienced a pipeline failure and fire on a pipeline in Western Pennsylvania on April 29, 2016. The presentation will cover the incident, Company response, root cause, and lessons learned from the work conducted to verify the integrity of the system following the incident.
Presenter Bio:
Rick Kivela graduated from Michigan Technological University in 1979 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. Upon graduation, Rick was hired by Panhandle Eastern Pipe Line Company in the Engineering Construction Department. Over his 38 year career in the natural gas transmission industry, Rick has held positions in Construction Management, Environmental Compliance, Facility Planning, Project Management and Operational Compliance. Risk is currently the Manager of Operation Compliance for Enbridge. He is also an active member of ASME B31.8 and the INGAA Pipeline Safety Committee.
