The “Standards of Practice” is a forward-looking webinar series exploring the standards that operators need to master, to educate professionals about the evolving regulatory environment, and to disseminate the current standards of practice. Each session features expert speakers discussing the latest practices shaping the future of pipeline infrastructure.

This webinar is about API Recommended Practice 1185, and provides guidance for effective, consistent, and meaningful public engagement across the pipeline lifecycle. This webinar will highlight key principles, objectives, and practical considerations for engaging communities, stakeholders, and the public. Attendees will gain insight into how the recommended practices support transparency, trust, and improved communication for pipeline operators.

Andrea D. Grover, VP, Stakeholder & Indigenous Engagement, manages engagement teams in the U.S. and Canada. She started this role in April 2025. Her responsibilities include coordinating efforts to inform and involve stakeholders such as community members, Indigenous leaders and members, public officials, media, regulators, responders, landowners, and interest groups regarding Enbridge’s assets and expansion projects. Andrea has held leadership positions within Public Affairs, Communications & Sustainability (PACS) and Engagement, including Director in the U.S. since 2019. Based in Houston, she has worked at the company for over 20 years, holding managerial roles in Lands and PACS, and contributing to major expansion projects, strategic planning, regulatory processes, asset integrity, crisis communications, and media relations. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Montana State University. Andrea is Enbridge’s board representative for the INGAA Foundation and serves on its executive committee.
 
Charlie Newman, Strategist, Stakeholder & Indigenous Engagement, has over 20 years of experience in the energy sector. Since joining Enbridge in 2016, he has held roles in Public Affairs and Lands and Right of Way. He has supported Indigenous and community engagement across the U.S. for crude oil, natural gas, and renewable projects. Charlie also serves on the American Petroleum Institute’s Public Awareness and Engagement Group and RP 1185 Implementation Team. Prior to joining Enbridge, Charlie began his career as an upstream lands agent and later operated a Land & Right of Way services firm supporting exploration and production companies operating in Arkansas and Oklahoma.
