Marlon Brown has been the City Manager of Sarasota for the past three years. He served as Sarasota’s deputy city manager from 2009. He is the first person of color to serve in the position since the city’s founding more than 100 years ago. Brown, who is originally from the twin islands of Trinidad and Tobago, identifies as Afro-Caribbean.
