Welcome to the Citizens for Forest Health Monitoring
Kick Off!

Thank you for working with us this summer!  We have an action-packed season ahead of us without a lot of great opportunities for you to spend time in the woods, make new friends and gain valuable skills to better understand how to create healthier, more resilient forests.

The day's theme will be "Wildlife and Forest Biological Diversity".  One of the many benefits of living near the forest is the opportunity to enjoy seeing wild animals, whether they be turkeys meandering through oak glades, song birds calling at dawn or elk rutting for autumn mates.  A local wildlife expert will be leading a discussion on what characteristics of a forest lead to healthy populations of wildlife and how we can encourage these conditions for our forests in Pagosa Springs.  Please stay tuned for more information on our guest speaker!

DIRECTIONS TO CLOMAN PARK:
From HW 160 turn North on Piedra Blvd. Turn right on Cloman Blvd (Steven's Field airport sign). Cloman Blvd dead ends into Cloman Park parking lot.  We will be meeting at the picnic tables in the parking lot.  This is also the entrance to the Cloman Park Disc Golf course.

WHAT TO BRING:
We will be spending all day outside and as you know the weather in the San Juans can be unpredictable, so please come prepared with the following gear:
  • Water bottle
  • Long sleeve
  • Light jacket
