Join us on a historical tour
This is a rerun of last year's event. The tour was so appreciated that we wanted to do it again. You are welcome to join us for a visit at the Ohio Glass Museum in Lancaster, Ohio. We'll be touring the museum with beautiful glass pieces and learn about the glass blowing techniques and history.
The famous brothers from Sweden
During the tour we'll learn about the Erickson brothers, founders of Erickson Glasswork. Carl Erickson and his brother Stephen, immigrated to the States from Reijmre, Sweden. The brothers established Erickson Glassworks in Bremen, Ohio in 1943 after working in the business for a long period. During Carl's career he stayed in Hollywood for a short period, where he got to design a chandelier for Greta Garbo's "Camille." The brothers are famous for their handmade art glass and have a glass patent called "flame design." Carl's trademark was the extensive use of controlled bubble design.
