Welcome to Midsummer celebration 2019
In mid-June, school is out and nature has burst into life. This calls for celebration! In Scandinavia friends and family gather for the most typical tradition of all: Midsummer. And since we love Scandinavian traditions we invite you to celebrate midsummer with us - welcome!
Here is our program :
4PM -
Decorating our beautiful Maypole and then elevating it to the sky!
For this , we would really appreciate your donated material - small branches or sprigs with green leaves, plus a variety of flowers. The flowers may be your own sourcing, or ask for those discarded by a florist. - Please indicate how you can help us on the RSVP form.
- For those not busy with the Maypole, enjoy some refreshments from our beverage department with cold soft drinks, beer, and wine, plus of course some Scandinavian Midsommar specials

5PM - Dining - we start with traditional Scandinavian Herring Table, plus the appetizers or salads you are bringing to share. Then, main course. Some grilled meats are provided by the Club - augmented by your sides or special Scandinavian treats. We finish with a variety deserts that you are bringing to share. The Club provides all beverages. We look forwards to taste all your goodies! .

Please label your food with an index card ahead of time especially for any ingredients that may be an allergin (ie: wheat, fish, nuts, strawberries, etc).
6PM- Dance around the Maypole - Fun Midsommar games, equally loved by the young and old. Jump around in
Små Grodorna. Spin your whole world in
Karusellen. Clap your hands for takeoff in
Raketen...and more!
7PM Scandi Dancers - Enjoy traditional Scandinavian folk dances by an entusiastic local exhibition group, and feel free to join in and learn the steps for some of the tours. And learn more about this dance group and their regular activities right in our own area!
