Join us for an evening of inspiring stories and insights from trans elders! Geared to trans youth and their families, this event is open to anyone.

This virtual event offers an evening of dialogue, history, resources, and insights drawn from the experiences and wisdom of trans elders who transitioned early in life and have been long-time activists in the LGBTQIA community, both locally and nationally.

Now living across the country, these elders are accomplished professionals who reflect a rich diversity of race, ethnicity, and gender. They hope that sharing their stories will provide historical context and show young people that a positive future is possible. They want today’s trans youth to recognize, “I have ancestors,” and “I can do this!” Their powerful stories offer guidance and hope to the next generation of trans youth and their families.

Join us for a panel conversation with these elders, followed by a dialogue with the next generation of trans youth, as we nurture community together.

To set the tone for our webinar and to learn more about trans history, please check out this short 7-minute video from Sexplanations, presenting a version of history written by Dr. Doe and Blake Bonkowski.

According to the Sexplanations, the video "is not comprehensive or cross-cultural, but it does touch on many of the documented events and experiences which influenced how we got to 2018. My hope is that we create a history with more visibility, awareness, and advocacy; less discrimination, hatred, and violence. I hope we all stay curious about the millions of other voices and timelines contributing to trans history."
