Designed by Rees Jones, 1995 Golf Digest Architect of the year, this 27 hole layout is much different from Poppy Hills in that is has only one original tree. That oak can be seen on the eighth hole of the Chardonnay course, one of the many picturesque holes at Poppy Ridge. The Merlot, Chardonnay, and Zinfandel nines offer challenging and enjoyable golf for any level of player. Carved in the rugged terrain of the Livermore foothills, Poppy Ridge offers spectacular views of the golf course and beyond. Each hole is shaped by extensive bunkering, giving the course a true links feel.
Format: The objective in a Modified Stableford tournament is to have the highest score in points. The number of points awarded on each hole is determined based on a comparison of the number of strokes to par. Once a player has taken a net double bogey (par plus 2 plus number of strokes), they may pick up.
Per hole points allocation (net score)
Triple Eagle or Hole-in-one 6 points
Double Eagle or Albatross 8 points (3 under par)
Eagle 5 points (2 under par)
Birdie 2 points (1 under par)
Par 0 points
Bogey -1 point (1 over par)
Dbl Bogey -3 points (2 over par)
Always, just record your actual gross score and the system will figure it out.
Tournament Director is Chuck Pickett
