Please join us for a walking tour around Historic Norwichtown while Regan Miner, Executive Director of the Norwich Historical Society, tells stories of some of Norwichtown’s remarkable rebels and revolutionaries. On this tour, you’ll learn about incredible individuals such as Sarah Knight, who defied traditional gender roles and was a colonial era tavern keeper and Jean Pierre Boyer, who briefly lived in Norwichtown, then went on to become the first President of Haiti. You’ll hear about a different kind of rebel such as brothers, Alexander and James Robertson, who were the proprietors and printers of Norwich’s first newspaper, The Norwich Packet, until their loyalist leanings forced them to leave town. Come experience Historic Norwichtown’s revolutionary history! After the tour, stick around for the Samuel Huntington Wreath Laying Ceremony in the Burying Ground at 10:30am. This event is hosted by the Norwich Historical Society. 

Parking: Around the Norwichtown Green. Please meet on the Norwichtown Green on the corner of Elm Ave and Town Street. 
Time: The tour will be roughly one hour and is less than a mile. The Burying Ground has hilly and uneven terrain which may not be suitable for wheelchairs. 
Restrooms are available in the Norwich Heritage and Regional Visitors Center which is open Friday - Sunday 11:00am-3:00pm.
