Class Description: Enjoy a 90-minute yoga class on the water, weather permitting. Class will include 15 minutes of paddling to warm up, a 60-minute yoga sequence with our boards anchored, and 15 minutes of paddling to end. Anchors, boards, paddles, and PFD are provided. Paddleboard experience is required and members must have passed the SUP Skills and Water Safety Assessment. You must be able to turn your board, paddle in a straight line, and carry your board from rack to launch and back after class ends. Boards and paddles will be reserved for you on this day or you can bring your own.
Schedule: Please come 15 minutes early to get your board and set your anchors. We will leave promptly at start time.
Parking: Be sure to display your Park Ave Beach Parking decal or adhere to City of Highland Park Regulations. Parking tickets are $75 each. You can review PDHP parking information here: http://www.pdhp.org/beaches/parking-2/
Cost & Cancellations: The cost is FREE but pre registration is only accepted through https://www.katiehoffmanyoga.com/book-online. Participants will be notified if the class needs to be rescheduled due to hazardous weather conditions.
What to Wear and Bring:
- Swimsuit or shorts, rashguard/top. Lightweight, synthetic clothing is best.
- Croakies or something to tie glasses on with
- Footwear- Barefeet or neoprene water booties are ideal. Shoes with laces and flip-flop sandals are not appropriate.
- Warm layers- Bring extra layers that are made out of a synthetic material (fleece, Coolmax, polypropylene, etc.) Cotton will not keep you warm if it is wet.
- Come prepared for warm, cold, and/or wet weather.
- Dry clothes to change into after the class.
- Please be comfortable in the water and able to swim.
