The 2020 pandemic changed everything for everyone the world over. John Dewey famously stated, "We learn not from experience, but from reflection on experience” and now is the time to reflect upon what we thought we knew about career development, what we have experienced during 2020, and what we must do to enrich our career practice and the lives of our clients moving forward.

Now is the time to understand, clarify, and adapt our career practice by “flipping the script” on VUCA to change the frightening into the fierce. What will our client work look like when we parlay Volatility into Velocity, Uncertainty into Unorthodoxy, Complexity into Creativity, and Ambiguity into Awesomeness?

Our career services will be more engaging, energizing, and purposeful for us as career practitioners and them, our clients. In this session we will:

  1. Briefly review human evolution and neuroscience to predict what an adapted career practice for the post-pandemic world will need to be.
  2. Conceptually understand the perspective shift from “ bad VUCA” as we know it today to a useful, adaptive, fierce VUCA.
  3. Demonstrate fierce VUCA with 4 specific ideas to achieve this paradigm shift in sessions with clients.
