After astronomers discovered the first interstellar visitor we have identified to the solar system, 'Oumuamua, Harvard astrophyicist Avi Loeb suggested that it might be an artifact from an extraterrestrial civilization, perhaps a spacecraft sent to explore our solar system. It's a controversial idea, but one Loeb thinks we should consider now that we know Earth-like planets are common in the universe. Loeb, author of the 2021 New York Times bestseller Extraterrestrial: The First Sign of Intelligent Life Beyond Earth, will give a talk to NESW members and answer questions afterwards.
