Join the National Capital Area Alumni Association (NCAAA) for one of our most exciting community service events ever! This year, we are proud to be partnering with Dreams for Kids DC to help with their annual soccer clinic. During the event, we will work alongside players, coaches, and staff of DC United. As volunteers, we will have the opportunity to spend quality time with participating children, meet and interact with DC United players, and reconnect with our brothers through the Athletic ethos of our SLAG motto.

About Dreams for Kids Events

Dreams for Kids DC (DFKDC) is a registered 501 c(3) that helps give children with disabilities (aged 4-24) the gift of sports by hosting adaptive athletic events once or twice a month. Through these events, those with physical and developmental disabilities are able to come off the sidelines and unite with their peers. A lot of these children have been bullied in schools and are left out of activities with able-bodied children. The empowerment and self-confidence gained through the clinic will carry over from the field to their home, classroom, and community, allowing them to realize that their disability will not prevent them from fulfilling their dreams. 

What to Expect as a Volunteer

Each child is partnered with a volunteer to learn the essence of teamwork, having a mentor, and bonding over a sense of camaraderie. When you arrive, you will meet the child you will be spending time with that day, as well as their family and caregivers. You will then spend the day with them, going through drills, meeting the athletes, and showing them a good time. We will meet before and after to socialize as alumni and share stories from the day.
