This course will provide the participant with fundamental knowledge of fuel gas codes, product standards, third party listings and manufacturer’s instructions regarding the use of corrugated stainless steel tubing (CSST) gas piping technology.  Participants will be provided with:

  • updated code requirements that are designed to protect fuel gas systems from transient lightning energy
  • A basic understanding of how to install and protect CSST systems;  
  • How to size piping systems for both low and elevated operating pressure; and
  • How to properly inspect and repair the installed CSST.  
The course will discuss both residential and commercial applications.

Your instructors will be Robert Torbin, Director of Codes and Standards; OmeagFlex and Jonathan Sargeant, Manager of Codes and Stardards; OmegaFlex

Mr. Torbin has worked for over 35 years in the development of innovative fuel gas piping systems and related technologies.  Mr. Torbin has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University and an MS in Mechanical Engineering from WPI.  He is a Registered Professional Engineer and serves as a member of several national standards committees including the CSST ANSI LC-1 TSC, the CSA Manual Valve TSC, and press connections ANSI LC-4 TSC.  Mr. Torbin is also a voting member of the NFPA 54 Technical Committee.  He is the author/co-author of over 100 technical reports, journal articles and conference papers, including many on gas distribution research.  Mr. Torbin lectures to numerous gas industry organizations and plumbing, mechanical, electrical and fire inspector groups every year.

Refund:  Classes cancelled by the Alliance will result in a 100% refund of seminar fees.
Cancellations made:
At least seven (7) business days before the event:  less $5 and 10% admin fee
Less than seven (7) business days before the event:  no refund.
If the event fee is less than $10:  no refund.
