(Please use the RSVP on the top of this page to register for the event.)

Description:

Please join the Iranian Engineers of BC Association (IEBCA) in an informative in-person presentation by Younes Rashidi, P.Eng. from Hedgehog Technologies. The presentation is in English, and members of Engineers and Geoscientists BC may claim 1 Continuing Education (CE) Hour for attending the event.

With an increasing focus on protecting operational systems and industrial control networks, operational technology (OT) cybersecurity has become increasingly relevant in recent years. This presentation will start by comparing IT and OT cybersecurity and highlighting the specific challenges of protecting OT systems. Myths surrounding OT cybersecurity will be debunked, providing a clear understanding of the current state of the field. To illustrate the real-world impact of OT cyber-attacks, the presentation will provide an example of such an attack. Best practices for OT cybersecurity will be discussed, offering recommendations to improve and protect infrastructures against cyber threats. Finally, the presentation will talk about the future of OT cybersecurity, exploring emerging job roles and career opportunities in this growing and evolving field.
