Grand Rapids Jeep Club will be hosting its first ever Go Topless Day® event on Saturday, May 19th. Our event will be in conjunction with the national event put on by All Things Jeep. This is the 11th year of the national event.
Our event will be hosted by 5 Lakes Brewing Co, in Dorr, MI. Our event will also be a charity event to benefit Michele’s Rescue in Grand Rapids.
Go Topless Day® is a spring tradition when we celebrate the return of warm weather and sense of fun and adventure that comes along with owning a Jeep! Go Topless Day® was started by All Things Jeep’s founders in 2008 after a particularly brutal New England Winter. As many Jeep owners will attest, removing the top from the Jeep Wrangler, or “going topless” is one of the most enjoyable aspects of ownership, especially so after months of cold weather. The annual kick-off celebration of the start of topless Jeep season is easy to join! Simply take your top off!
The event is free to attend, but we ask that you register, so we have an idea of how many are coming. We will be selling raffle tickets for the prize raffle. We also encourage bringing an item(s) to donate to the rescue if you are able to.
100% of all proceeds from the event go directly to Michele’s Rescue.
This year’s event will feature a trail ride in the Allegan State Game Area, Prizes Raffles, Vendor Booths, and a donation drive for our charity partner. You are also welcome to check out 5 Lakes Brewing and take in some good food and drink.
Registration/Check-in starts at 11:00 a.m. Once registered, you will line up in a group to head out on the trail ride. Once your group is full, that group will head out. The first group(s) will leave at 11:30 a.m., depending on the amount of jeeps that register.
You are free to check out the vendors before and after your trail ride. Raffle tickets for the prizes, will be available for sale BEFORE you leave for your trail ride. Drawings will be held while Jeeps are on the trail, and we will have a table set up to check tickets at once you return. You are free to go into the restaurant and eat/drink any time after you have returned.
About Michele’s Rescue:
Michele’s Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit animal rescue which was started in 1997. We are a no kill rescue that takes in and adopts out animals from all over the country. Most of the animals we take in are in line to be “put-down” and need rescues like ours to help them find a happy and loving home. These animals are vaccinated, microchipped, treated for parasites and fleas, heartworm tested and most importantly spayed/neutered. The only thing wrong with our animals is that they are without a family…your family.
We also help people who are relinquishing their pets to help keep them in their homes. If it’s not possible we direct them to other reputable rescues or have them foster their own pets while waiting for an opening here! We educate them about the high kill in this nation. We direct them to local food pantries and local low cost clinics. We will also place their pets on the Petfinder website.
Michelle‘s rescue runs solely on Foster/volunteers because sometimes the volunteer is going to get the relinquished animal so they are a big part of it as well.
