PLEASE READ ALL INFO ABOUT THIS TRIP BEFORE RSVP’ING, AND PAYING FOR YOUR TRIP.

GRJC is having its first ever Camping/Over-landing weekend designed for beginners. We will spend the weekend, wheeling and camping in the Baldwin (Friday Night) and Manistee (Saturday Night) areas. Everything you bring on this trip MUST be able to be carried in or on your Jeep between campgrounds, and on the trail rides. Any trailers, must be able to fit down forest roads, two-tracks, etc. Some areas of the trails will be tight. Please plan accordingly.

This is a member’s only event. This means any member (dues must be current at time of trip), and their immediate family is allowed to attend.

Trip Leaders: Scott Fuller/Josh Morrison

Because of space limitations at the campgrounds, and to keep the rides to a manageable size, we have to limit the number of Jeeps/Tents to 20 for this event. If you are interested in being placed on a waiting list for this trip, please send an email to 616Jeeps@gmail.com. If someone cancels their reservation or more room opens up at the campgrounds, we will contact people on the waiting list. Any refund, authorized by the club will be for the trip amount, not including the service fees charged by MemberPlanet.

Reservations will open to members on Saturday, April 13th at 12:00 p.m. Reservations will close after all slots are paid for or on Thursday, June 6th, whichever comes first.

TRIP INFORMATION:
Once you have paid for your reservation, you will be sent a link to join a private Facebook page for attendees only. This will serve as the central location for all information about the trip, etc. Any questions not explained below, should be asked on this page, and not the public Facebook page.

Cost of Trip: Electric Lots (12 Available) are $52 for the weekend. Rustic Lots (8 Available) are $39 for the weekend. Explanations of the lots are in the Camping section below.Payment will be made via MemberPlanet when you sign up.

Cancellation policy: No refunds will be provided for this trip, unless the club can find someone to take your reservation. The transfer of funds will take place between members. Once the club has been given confirmation that funds have been settled, the reservation change will take place. PLEASE make sure you can go on this trip before paying for it. Any spots not reserved and paid for 3 weeks prior to the event, will be cancelled with the campgrounds, and the club will no longer be able to fill those spots.

Camping: (12 Electric lots, and 8 Rustic spots are available for this trip. See details below for each campground)
Friday night, we will be staying at North Country Store & Campground just north of Baldwin. Here we have 12 individual Electric Lots, and 8 individual Rustic lots. The campground will do its best to get all or most of the lots, near each other. Electric lots are $25 for the night, and Rustic lots are $15 for the night. Each lot contains a fire pit and a picnic table. Firewood is available at the camp store for purchase. Campground website is - https://www.northcountrystoreandcampground.com/

Saturday night we will be staying at Matson’s Big Manistee River Campground in Manistee. Here we have 6 Electric lots (lots 56-61) reserved. The campground assures us that we can fit 2 tents on each electric lot, along with our jeeps. We also have 6 Rustic lots reserved (lots 62-67), and they say we can fit 8 tents across these 6 lots. Electric lots are $27 for the night, and Rustic spots are $24 for the night. Each lot has a firepit and a picnic table. Firewood can be purchased at the camp store. Camp Website is - http://www.matsonscampground.com/

Tent Size: Because we will be sharing lots at the second campground, please be courteous with the size of your tent. For example, if you have 2 people in your party, you don’t really need a 10 person tent. We all need to work together to make the space work out.

Trail Rides: The weekend will consist of 3 trail rides. Friday evening, we will head to Tin Cup near Baldwin for a night run. On Saturday morning after breakfast and camp cleanup, we will convoy to Irons, where we will pick up a trail and follow it all the way to Manistee. After checkin and camp setup at new campgrounds, we will head out wheeling in the Manistee area Saturday afternoon into early evening. We are also working on a possible ride in the afternoon on Friday for those wanting to head north early. More details on this add-on ride will be available later on the event Facebook page.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR JEEP IS TRAIL READY. WE DO NOT WANT TO LOSE TIME ON THE TRAILS REPAIRING THINGS THAT COULD HAVE BEEN FIXED PRIOR.

Meals: GRJC will provide breakfast to all participants of this event, on Saturday and Sunday morning. This is another benefit of being a member of the club. GRJC always uses a team approach to fixing breakfast for everyone. All help is welcome and appreciated. You will be responsible for all other meals. Lunch on Saturday should be planned so you can eat either on the trail ride, or at one of the stops along the way. On Saturday night, some people will be heading to the All-you-can-eat Buffet at Little River Casino in Manistee for dinner. All are welcome to join in, but it is your responsibility to pay for. Info on the buffet can be found here - https://www.lrcr.com/dining/big-lake-buffet .

Paid members: This is NOT a ticket event, due to limited space.

This event is a member’s only event.  Please do not share with non-members or talk about it on our Facebook page.
