Frenchtown Rendezvous is an annual celebration of French-Canadian and Métis history in the Pacific Northwest. It's a fund-raiser for the maintenance and interpretation of the Frenchtown Historic Site. It's also a gathering of local and family historians, genealogists, and scholars, where we talk about history and meet new people and old friends. Whether you're new to Frenchtown or a long-time supporter, this is the event attend.

Our keynote speaker this year is Mary Anne Maddoux from Gervais, Oregon. Maddoux will talk about the process of managing and digitizing the Harriett Munnick archive of materials related to Catholic church records of the Pacific Northwest, and share some tips for how to use Munnick's work for our own investigations. But genealogy is not the only way to dig through history; Maddoux will also speak about her experience as a site manager at the excavation of a French-Canadian homestead at Champoeg, Oregon.

Christina Dubois, retired chief editor of Columbia: The Magazine of Northwest History, now works as a freelance editor with a special interest in family histories and memoirs. Her Workshop on Writing Family History will help researchers at all levels of experience explore how to share their genealogical projects with a wider readership.

Schedule of events:
1-2 PM : Workshop on writing and publishing family history by Christina Dubois, retired editor of Columbia Magazine of the Washington State Historical Society.
Register online for Dubois' workshop at tinyurl.com/RDVworkshop.

2 pm: Doors open to the public. Come stock your wine cellar at the silent auction, buy a raffle ticket for a Chief Joseph Pendleton blanket, or check out the history displays. Beer and wine will be available for purchase.

4 PM:  Historical archaeologist Maryanne Maddoux will speak about the digitization of the Harriet D. Munnick Papers by the St. Paul Mission Historical Society, and the field school excavation of a French-Canadian homestead at Champoeg, OR.
