BRIGADIER GENERAL SANDY BEST
Special Assistant to the Chief, National Guard Bureau for Diversity; and Deputy Adjutant General, Minnesota National Guard:
 
Brigadier General Sandy Best has served in the Minnesota National Guard for over 35 years.  She has held a number of command positions, including a wartime rotation to Afghanistan.
 
General Best serves as Special Assistant to the Chief, National Guard Bureau for Diversity.  She advises and assists leaders across the 54 states and territories in institutionalizing diversity and inclusion in order to attract, recruit, and retain a quality, inclusive, and equitable work force that reflects the communities the National Guard serves.  General Best performs and additional state duty with the Minnesota National Guard as Deputy Adjutant General, where she is responsible for providing guidance, leadership, support, and oversight to the Minnesota Department of Military Affairs.
 
General Best is passionate about equity, diversity, and inclusion for all.  She finds nothing more rewarding than helping others achieve their dreams.  She is extremely proud to serve in the Minnesota National Guard where members are encouraged to be their authentic self in an inclusive environment where they work hard to accomplish the mission and put PEOPLE FIRST!
