Memorial Day Commemoration
Speaker: Melissa DeLay, Founder of TruPerception
Please join the Eagle Group of Minnesota Veterans for our May 2019 monthly meeting on May 22nd, 2019 from 5:30-8:00PM!
This month we are very fortunate to have Melissa DeLay – founder and principal owner of TruPerception as our presenter. Melissa held senior communications positions in some of Minnesota’s most influential companies, and she has made national appearances on Inc., Business Insider and MSN. Her book, The Truth About Scandal, was recognized by Upjourney.com as one of the best books for entrepreneurs to read in 2019.
Melissa’s topic: A Bad Day at the Office: Good Ways to Deliver Bad News and Manage Negative Reviews
- The importance of healthy workplace communication and dangers of miscommunication.
- Introduction to Messaging Platforms, explanation of their purpose and usefulness, and how to develop a personalized messaging guide.
- Interactive Discussion on choosing the right words in any tough situation.
- Q&A period on real-life challenges leaders face with professional communication.
- Tips for delivery methods and bad news: when to call, make a personal visit or send a letter.
- Workshop time to begin creation of Messaging Platform.
- Strategies for writing more effective emails, letters and other responses (including handout).
Also, as has become tradition, we will have our annual Memorial Day Remembrance Ceremony at the beginning of our meeting.
Due to so much great content being a part of our meeting this month, we will be kicking things off right at 6:00 PM this month. Please arrive early so that you can get some food and drink and be ready for the meeting to begin promptly at 6:00.
