The Seven Mistakes New Managers Make: How to Avoid Them and Thrive

What to expect:
Job search and transition can be a simultaneous exhilarating and exhausting experience.  While it creates opportunities to meet new people and broaden your professional network, it can lead to questions of uncertainly, lack of closure and confusion.  Janet will share with us what she’s learned about “getting unstuck” when you’re in the middle of a job search.  She will provide suggestions for identifying approaches you haven’t yet considered and some perspectives about working successfully within the ambiguity that is a job search.

About Janet Polach, Ph.D.
An experienced coach and leadership development professional, Janet Polach has developed leaders in the US, China, South Korea, Singapore, Puerto Rico, Ireland, and the Netherlands.  She asks thoughtful questions, summarizes what she hears, and allows silence for reflection. She possesses deep academic knowledge in adult learning, leadership development and coaching.  Dr. Polach holds her Ph.D. in organizational leadership and development from the University of Minnesota and is a retired U.S. Marine Corps reserve officer.  She recently published The Seven Mistakes New Managers Make: How to Avoid Them and Thrive.
