Our guest speaker is Daniel Paul Nelson, director of the Lakota People's Law Project. Daniel has worked on the Greenpower initiative and with the Lakota People in North and South Dakota. He has worked with Native communities for over ten years, helping lead campaigns opposing fossil fuel extraction (NoDAPL), vote suppression in North Dakota, and violation of the Indian Child Welfare Act by foster care workers. In this presentation, he will discuss these campaigns and describe ongoing activism in the Dakotas to support Native sovereignty and environmental sanity.
