Legislative Update Dinner with Assemblymember Dawn Addis and Senator John Laird

The Democratic Women of Monterey County (DWMC) will host a Legislative Update Dinner on Thursday, September 18 at 6 p.m. at the Hilton Garden Inn in Monterey. The evening provides a rare opportunity for community members to hear directly from state leadership, engage in discussions about critical issues, and shape the dialogue around our region’s future.
Assemblymember Dawn Addis (30th Assembly District: San Luis Obispo, Monterey, and Santa Cruz Counties) serves as Chair of the Budget Subcommittee on Health, is the Speaker’s appointee to the Ocean Protection Council, and Co-Chair of the California Legislative Central Coast Caucus.
She has been named an Ocean Champion by the Monterey Bay Aquarium and a Worker Warrior by SEIU.
Assemblymember Addis has advanced state funding and landmark legislation in healthcare, consumer rights, environmental protection, and public safety to benefit the Central Coast.
Senator John Laird (representing Santa Cruz, San Benito, Monterey, and most of San Luis Obispo County) chairs the Senate Budget Subcommittee on Education and serves on numerous legislative bodies. In his first term, 59 of his bills became law, addressing urgent issues such as environmental protection, healthcare access, educational equity, sustainable agriculture, and election reform.
