Dr. Christopher C. HarmonDr. Harmon is a subject matter expert on terrorism and insurgency. He is the lead author or editor of five books on terrorism and counterterrorism, including The Terrorist Argument: Modern Advocacy & Propaganda (Brookings, 2018). He has also written for such publications as Oxford Bibliographies and the geopolitics journal Orbis. Dr. Harmon began his graduate-level teaching career in the Strategy Department of the Naval War College (1988-1992) and has since held three academic chairs at Marine Corps University including, currently, the Bren Chair of Great Power Competition. From 1985 to 1988 he served as the Legislative Aide for Foreign Policy for Congressman James A. Courter, member of the House Armed Services Committee. Professor Harmon earned his MA and PhD in International Affairs and Government from Claremont Graduate School in California. As an undergraduate he studied at Seattle University.
