ABOUT PATRICK MASON

Patrick Mason is a nationally recognized expert on tourism and in-migration trends, relocation research and destination marketing.  Raised in Minnesota, he earned a business degree from Denver University and spent ten years in marketing at Marriott in Washington DC, Chicago and New York.

In 1983, he was recruited to Columbia to administer a $6 million marketing budget for US Capital Corporation, a national real estate development firm.  That company sold $600 million dollars worth of resort condos during Pat's three-year tenure.

Following the real estate law fiasco in 1986, Pat and his wife, Leyla, launched a firm specializing in destination research and marketing.  An unusual partnership was forged between business leaders and the South Carolina Tourism Department to fund economic impact research on in-migration and to promote the Carolinas nationally.  Today that division is called the Center For Carolina Living, which produces consumer resource tools including the CarolinaLiving.com Guide To Relocation & Retirement, the monthly Compass E-news and CarolinaLiving.com.

ABOUT CCU REAL ESTATE CLUB

It is open to everyone interested in investment, residential and commercial real estate. The club will meet on the last Wednesday of every month, on a 12-month basis, at the General Aviation Building of the Myrtle Beach International Airport. Speakers will include local and regional leaders, along with government officials, who will discuss a wide range of pertinent topics.
