You know the moment: that instant when, after days or weeks of floundering in your writing, you suddenly see or hear something you couldn’t before. The fog lifts, and now you know exactly where to go and can possible even conceive of the whole project. We might call this a creative epiphany, the instant that inspiration strikes, or that moment when your mind shouts — you guessed it — “a ha!”
This workshop will shine a light on the A-Ha Moment — on the nature of inspiration and the forces that inform it. While such moments certainly can’t be manufactured or planned, we’ll discuss the steps that we can take to cultivate or make space for inspiration. Towards the end of the workshop, I’ll invite you to apply new inspirational strategies to your own work.
Please arrive to the workshop with writing materials and a brief excerpt — four pages or less — from a piece of writing that you feel is stalled. We’ll do our best to get you re-inspired!
