Join Trish Wilkinson, author, coach, and editor, for an interactive, 3-hour online workshop via Zoom. You'll learn writing techniques to bring your nonfiction to life, and how to structure stories and articles to compel your readers to the final word. You'll also get to practice your new tools and share your work (if desired) in breakout rooms of small groups to get feedback and encouragement.
Trish will also provide sample email letters to a magazine editor and an agent, and she'll explain what elements made those letters effective in sparking interest and moving the reader to respond. Then you'll adapt the letter of your choice to an editor or agent about your own work.
What will you do with your improved writing and your email to an editor or agent that you've workshopped with your small group? You'll polish them and send them out, of course!
Don't let the nonfiction title of the workshop scare you away if you're a fiction writer. Most of the concepts, tools, and how-tos apply to fiction as well.
