The Fundamentals of Laparoscopic Surgery/Laparoscopic workshop allows clinicians to learn and practice laparoscopic skills, giving them the opportunity to measure and document those skills. The FLS Test measures cognitive knowledge, case/problem management skills and manual dexterity. The assessment includes two components, a computer-based assessment and a performance-based manual skills assessment. The FLS program content has been endorsed by the American College of Surgeons (ACS) and is a joint educational offering of Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons (SAGES) and ACS. The FLS program has also been mandated by the American Board of Surgery (ABS) for all graduating surgical residents beginning in the 2009-2010 academic year. Those who successfully complete both the educational and assessment components will have demonstrated the basic knowledge, judgment and technical skills fundamental to the performance of laparoscopic surgery.

Early Bird Registration: $350
