Presented by Rob Brookshire, PA-C
I am currently the sole PA on an ICU team dedicated to the care of ECMO patients and the only full-time employee on the service. My role as an ECMO PA began a little over five years ago, following nearly 13 years on our Trauma Service, here at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center, in Portland, Oregon. Having grown up in Arizona, I spent my college and post-college years in Flagstaff, AZ studying Spanish and political science before moving to Seattle and completing PA training at the University of Washington. Post-graduate work was completed at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and I recently completed doctoral work through the University of Lynchburg. My primary professional goals currently relate to ECMO program development and more broadly, to expanding the footprint of PAs/APPs within our system and fostering APP engagement and leadership. My favorite dog is every Rottweiler I have ever owned and my favorite season (ski season) is just around the corner.
