Greetings Bulldog Nation,
We hope this message finds you well.
In just a few weeks, our Alabama A&M Men’s Baseball team will travel to the Windy City to take on Prairie View A&M in the inaugural Chicago HBCU Baseball Classic at Wrigley Field on May 2, 2026. We are thrilled to participate in this historic moment—the first time two Black colleges will compete at one of America’s oldest ballparks and the only remaining MLB field where Jackie Robinson played.
Admission to the game is free, and we encourage all Bulldogs across our Midwest chapters to come out and support this landmark event.
We’re also excited to share that former Chicago Cubs Senior Vice President and AAMU alumnus Julian Green, along with AAMU Chicago Chapter President Connie Wheaton, will host a pre-game celebration benefiting the AAMU Athletic Department. The event will take place at the Budweiser Brickhouse at Wrigley Field from 3 p.m. until first pitch.
Tickets are $35, which includes food and a complimentary game ticket. You can purchase tickets here:

For those unable to join us in Chicago, we invite you to consider making a contribution in support of the Athletic Department. Your support is vital as we continue to compete in a highly competitive SWAC conference, strengthen NIL opportunities, build championship-caliber programs, and prioritize the academic success of our student-athletes. Thanks to loyal alumni like you, our teams continue to rise.
This year alone, our Lady Bulldogs basketball team made history by securing its first regular-season SWAC Championship under Coach Dawn Thornton. Our women’s bowling team captured the SWAC Championship as well. In the world of collegiate E-sports, AAMU senior Jaeveon Jordan won the Rally Cry National Championship Series for EA Sports College Football ‘26. And academically, several of our teams met or exceeded the NCAA’s Academic Progress Rate benchmarks.
To build on this momentum, we are investing in enhanced academic support and improved training and development facilities. Plans are underway for a new practice pavilion, along with upgrades to locker rooms and training and recovery spaces.
We remain committed to offering a comprehensive and inclusive athletics program that promotes academic excellence, sportsmanship, and the holistic development of every student-athlete.
Thank you for your continued support.
