Hi, ladies.
Logistics have been finalized for Thursday's event with the collegians. We
will have dinner from 6:30 - 7:30, and discussion / program to follow from
7:30 - 8:30. There will be about 30 - 35 attendees (20 - 22 seniors; 3
non-seniors who will facilitate / participate - the President,
VP:Programming, and Alumnae Director; and at least 5 alumnae - Gretchen,
Carole, Mary Kay, Wendy, and Joyce - but hopefully a few more. I spoke to
several at Founders Day who expressed interest, so it would be great to get
out an invitation ASAP. Sarah, can you be so kind to do this, and it would
be great if you could participate as well!
The dinner will be a lasagna dinner. The chapter will provide the lasagna
and we will provide salad, dessert, bread, and beverages. Gretchen
volunteered to provide a tossed salad and cookie tray (will the salad be
enough for full group, or should we have 2 people sign up for salad?). It
would be great to have someone sign up for bread and butter; another
sweets / dessert item; and beverages (I'll arrange to have a Keurig there
so we can have coffee and tea, and I can bring Keurig pods and tea and
cream and sugar, so we would just looking for cold drinks such as soda /
water / iced tea). Please let me know what you would like to bring, and
I'll try to organize everyone. Carole indicated she will be coming
straight from work, so Carole, let me know if you want me to pick up
whatever you sign up for.
The program will consist of: brief introductions, DG at W&J (collegians
will talk a little about our chapter and present a video), discussion by
alumnae of the benefits of alumnae involvement and how to be involved (we
will likely do a panel format, where there will be some questions
pre-prepared, but will also open it up for the collegians to ask whatever
they would like), presentation of the senior books (something new this year
from EO), and the oath of friendship.
The house is at 322 East Chestnut Street, Washington, PA. I usually park
directly across from the house on the street, but it might be easier to
park in the church parking lot, right next to the house. There is no issue
parking there in the evenings.
Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. I look forward
to seeing everyone on Thursday!
Best,
Joyce
