"To promote good fellowship among the women students among the various colleges in the country...to create a secret society composed of these women based upon their good moral character, regardless of nationality or creed..."

Attending law school when you don’t have basic voting rights is a bold move. Our Founders were bold, courageous students who challenged the status quo and did not let society define their future. They were forward-thinking women who saw beyond what sorority was and knew what it could be.

On March 17, 1917, these five bold women attending New York University School of Law could not find a membership accepting of all backgrounds. So they formed Delta Phi Epsilon with the purpose of accepting all races and religions–one of the first non-sectarian, social sororities to do so.

Today, Delta Phi Epsilon heads into our Centennial year. Since our founding nearly 100 years ago, we have grown into a thriving organization with over 67,000 initiated members and chapters located across the United States and Canada. Sisters find more than a home or friendship in DPhiE.

We find empowerment to live authentic and purposeful lives.

Zeta Epsilon's History

On September 3rd, 2012, 9 women came together to found a local sorority built upon the founding principles of sisterhood, service, moral excellence and personal development.

Alex Nicholson, Alanna Gray, Charlotte McKenna, Mary McPherson, Leslie Cowie, Jenn Nix, Reneé Seerattan, Elena Robertson and Michelle Jarrett founded Kappa Delta Beta with the intent to bring another international NPC organization to Carleton University.

During their years on Carleton’s campus, the sisters actively sought membership, and subsequently, leadership opportunities within the Greek and Panhellenic councils, as well as other clubs and societies on campus and in the greater Ottawa region. They made great philanthropic achievements, and forged everlasting bonds of sisterhood.

Four years later the sisters of KDB, with the support of the Campus Panhellenic, went through the colony recruitment process and recruited a new group of women that would join existing sisters and go on to become Colony Omega.

On April 5th, 2016 the Zeta Epsilon chapter of Delta Phi Epsilon was installed.

On September 25th, 2016 we welcomed home our Alpha Class, at the end of our first fall formal recruitment.

On January 29th, 2017 our Beta class was bid and we welcomed four new women into our chapter.

September 25th, 2017 marked the end of our second fall recruitment and we celebrated with our Gamma class.
