This Convention Fund was started over 30 years ago as a way to send additional collegians from the Gamma Upsilon Chapter to Delta Gamma Conventions. At the time, Ann Alldritt McCarty heard from former collegiate presidents how hard it was to be president and come back inspired by great ideas, but then have difficulty expressing those ideas to the rest of the chapter so that they could also passionately support the effort. From this difficulty, the idea for the Convention Fund was born. 

Your gift to the Convention Fund allows more collegians to attend convention. Interested collegians can apply to the Convention Fund committee. Each collegian selected by the committee must pay for her travel expenses so that she has “skin in the game” and does not just see this as a fun vacation. The Convention Fund pays for the cost of attending convention. In the past several conventions, we were able to send four additional Gamma Upsilon members each time. Those members have gone on to be leaders in the chapter and later in the alumnae group.
