August 12, 2017 started as a normal day in our house. My husband, Virginia State Police Trooper-Pilot Berke Bates was getting ready to head to Charlottesville, Va to monitor the Unite the Right Rally. I walked with him to his car we said our good-byes; it was the last “normal” day in our house. Berke died when the helicopter he and Lt. Jay Cullen were in crashed in Albemarle County Virginia. I am supporting LEU for many reasons, the two most important being our almost 16 year old twins. He missed their Birthday every year to escort the riders on this 250 mile ride in honor of his fallen brothers and sisters in blue. LEU supports organizations like C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors), to which I owe my very existence today. They brought smiles back to our children’s faces. Riding in honor of him was the most rewarding and cathartic experience. I will continue to ride and support these organizations to keep his memory alive.

We have raised $480.00 of our $2,500.00 goal

The campaign has raised $111,294.50 towards the $850,000.00 goal
