The Stork's Nest Charity Fund of Dallas (SNCFD) was established as the 501(c)3 tax exempt non-profit entity of the Kappa Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority,Inc. Ms. Virgie Hunter was serving as the President.
Through this Charitable Arm, the Kappa Zeta Chapter makes significant contributions to the Dallas and surrounding Metroplex communities through volunteer work and outreach services. More specifically, the members of Kappa Zeta Chapter are involved in the granting of scholarships, youth development projects, child care development centers, as well as women's health issues.
One aspect of the SNCFD is the Stork's Nest Program, which is a cooperative program between The March of Dimes and Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. This program has both service and educational components. The service is the establishment of a distribution site, the "Nest," where expectant mothers, referred by cooperating hospitals, clinics, and health centers, can get necessary items such as maternity clothes, layettes and furniture at minimal or no cost. The educational component consists of seven sessions covering prenatal care, nutrition, drugs, alcohol and smoking, genetics, infant care and parenting.
Another aspect of the SNCFD is the Miss Blue Revue Scholarship Program. Blue Revue is a comprehensive scholarship program for female high school seniors that focuses on etiquette, community service, and college preparation.
