Gamma Zeta - Anchor Run

Greetings from the sisters of Gamma Zeta chapter of Delta Gamma at Louisiana State University. We’re proud to be hosting the Anchor Run fundraiser November 20-22, 2020.

In order to participate in this event, runners can sign up through Memberplanet and pledge a $25 minimum donation! This sign up fee will go directly towards Delta Gamma's Foundation, Service for Sight.

Anchor Run will be a semi-virtual, socially distanced walk/run around the LSU Lakes (or wherever you choose to participate). Walk with your roommates, your family, your pets, or your friends. Please wear a mask and properly social distance if you choose to run in public!

“Do Good," our motto since 1873, was penned by our Founders even before the letters Delta and Gamma were chosen. This motto is alive and well in 2020.

Our VISION is to greatly impact the lives of people who are blind or visually impaired. We also look to benefit our members through life enriching educational opportunities, as well as merit and need-based scholarships and graduate fellowships.

Since 1936, our national philanthropy has been Service for Sight. Delta Gammas across the United States and Canada fundraise and volunteer their time (approximately 120,000 hours per year) to assist those who are blind or visually impaired. Four schools for children who are blind or visually impaired have been established by Delta Gammas and continue to thrive to this day. Donations from our fundraising events also assist in the area of grants to organizations which share our Service for Sight mission. We are making a difference!

Once You Register:
After you have paid the registration fee of $25 the dates for the semi-virtual run will occur from November 20th - November 22nd. You can run once or multiple times throughout that duration, there is no limit. Runners are not restricted to a specific route, feel free to choose whichever path works best for you!

During this time Delta Gamma will be accepting screenshots of your run which can be tracked through the app, Charity Miles. Screenshots must be sent to deltagammaanchorrun@gmail.com. Runners who submit the top three most miles will receive a prize!
