Greetings from the Beta Psi chapter of Delta Gamma at the University of Alabama! We will be holding our Anchor Splash fundraising event on September 21st. Anchor Splash is where sisters help campus organizations form teams to participate in races, relays, and synchronized swimming competitions. Last year, the Beta Psi chapter had over 300 in attendance! We are hoping to spread awareness and raise funds for a cause that is a huge part of our organization.

Since 1936, our national philanthropy has been Service for Sight. However, our motto "Do Good" was penned by our Founders in 1873. This motto is alive and well in 2014. Delta Gamma's everywhere fundraise and volunteer their time (approximately 120,000 hours per year) to assist those who are blind or visually impaired. The Delta Gamma Foundation has also started four successful research schools for visually impaired children. Donations from our fundraising events also go toward grants for organizations who share our mission. In other words, your donations make a difference!

This year, money raised at Anchor Splash will go towards Service for Sight, as well as Camp Seale Harris Sugar Falls here in Tuscaloosa. Camp Sugar Falls provides a safe, fun camp experience for youth with Diabetes, with the mission of making a difference in their lives. Their cause especially resounds with that of Delta Gamma's because Diabetes is the leading cause of vision loss.
