Anchorbowl 2022 - Alpha Xi

Alpha Xi Chapter of Delta Gamma
West Virginia University
AnchorBowl 2022

Greetings from the Alpha Xi chapter of Delta Gamma at WVU! Our Anchorbowl is being held on October 16th. Thank you for your support of our fundraiser benefitting the Delta Gamma Foundation.

Anchor Bowl is our annual flag football tournament, and we host this event in the hopes of not only fostering a fun atmosphere but to also provide a high quality message about our philanthropy: The Delta Gamma foundation which places an emphasis on Service for Sight. Each team will compete against other organizations. There will be seperate brackets for the Guys and Girls. This year we are adding another fun activity that will take place the week before the event! (Oct. 10-14th) Capture the Anchor will be an optional addition to the day of Anchorbowl. Each team that wants to participate will get colored ribbons that are specific to their team. These ribbons can be put on backpacks, purses, tote bags, or anything else in plain view. The goal will be to "capture" as many ribbons from other teams as you can. The team with the highest amount of other teams ribbons at the end of the week will be given a special prize seperate from the one given at anchorbowl! Guidelines for this will be sent out to the chapters participating.

Do good has been Delta Gamma’s timeless motto since the beginning. This charge continues in 2022 as we work to positively impact our campus and strengthen our community. We believe the pursuit of doing good is never done.

Delta Gammas advocate for a better world for people who are blind or visually impaired through our national philanthropy, Service for Sight. Our women across the United States and Canada fundraise and volunteer their time (approximately 120,000 hours per year) to advocate for and serve this marginalized community.

We educate about sight preservation and are dedicated to providing access and opportunity for people with visual impairments including five Delta Gamma Schools for Children with Visual Impairments founded by members of Delta Gamma. Donations from fundraising events support grants to organizations that share our Service for Sight mission.

In addition, Delta Gamma Foundation empowers our sisters to be motivated women of impact, to grow social responsibility and authentic leadership by funding exceptional training initiatives, and invests in the academic success of our women through scholarships and fellowships.

Please accept our gratitude in advance for your gift and participation. The Delta Gamma Foundation is, by law, a 501(c)(3) entity, and your gift is tax deductible in the United States. The Delta Gamma Foundation also accepts matching gifts for your tax-deductible contribution.

Thank you! Together we are an unstoppable force for good.
