Anchor Bowl 2014

The sisters of Delta Gamma at Louisiana State University would like to invite you to participate in Anchor Bowl 2014. Anchor Bowl is our annual flag football tournament in which all proceeds from Anchor Bowl Sponsorships and donations benefit the Delta Gamma Foundation and the Louisiana School for the Visually Impaired.

Since 1936, our national philanthropy has been Service for Sight. Delta Gammas across the nation fundraise and volunteer their time (approximately 120,000 hours per year) to assist those who are blind or visually impaired. The Delta Gamma Foundation sponsors programs such as Scholarships, Educational and Leadership Programming and Service for Sight grants. The Delta Gamma Foundation has also partnered with the Veteran’s Administration to create a campaign called Joining Forces. This campaign works to help veterans who acquired a visual impairment in combat. The campaign works to ensure that the veterans will receive the best care for their visual impairment. Our vision and goal as a national organization is to greatly impact the lives of those in society who are blind or visually impaired.

The Louisiana School for the Visually Impaired is located near the Louisiana State University campus. Our chapter members work closely with the staff of the school to provide enrichment programs for the students. Members visit the school every week and host dances and parties for the students, and even have Zumba classes with them. Every spring the LSVI students come to the Delta Gamma house for LSU Fan Day. During Fan Day everyone is decked out in purple and gold and a variety of LSU athletes visit with the LSVI students. Last year the women’s gymnastic head coach, D.D. Breaux, was the guest speaker. The chapter also donates funds to the school to purchase equipment for the students. These funds come from these fundraising events that Delta Gamma hosts such as Anchor Bowl. We are making a difference!

Do Good, our motto since 1873, was penned by our Founders before the letters Delta Gamma were even chosen. Please help Delta Gamma "Do Good" and impact the lives of those who need our help.

Bronze level donor: $1-$149
Pink level: $150-$249, your name/business name will appear on the back of our shirt
Blue Level: $250 or more; your business logo/name will appear on the back of our shirt
Delta Gamma Tiger: Top 6 business donors will be advertised on our field
