CULTURALLY BASED HIGHER EDUCATION AND CAREER EXPLORATION AND TRAINING FOR NATIVE HAWAIIAN YOUTH AND YOUNG ADULTS WHO WANT TO REACH THEIR HIGHEST POTENTIAL.As one of the finalists for CNHAs first ever Pitch It! competition at its Annual Native Hawaiian Convention, EA Ecoversity is being awarded this matching campaign. This was an idea born out of a need to provide another pathway for innovative ideas to come forward. The funders did their best to have the monies get to the ideas that stood out to them. We are inviting the community to partner with us and match our $5,000 donation, doubling the support for young Hawaiians who want to become educated 21st century kanaka makua! UPDATE! Due to the overwhelming response of our community, our $5,000 donation was doubled. We will keep this campaign open and strive to now triple our donation, with a $15,000 goal! EA Ecoversity was launched in 2020 by Dr. Ku Kahakalau, with fiscal support from her social enterprise Ku-A-Kanaka, and provides TUITION-FREE Hawaiian culture-based higher education and career training to native Hawaiians ages 15-30.
Blending online and offline learning, EA Ecoversity immerses Hawaiian 'opio in a 2-year learning journey grounded in atmosphere of aloha, where they earn diverse micro-credentials, complete paid internships in careers of their choice and engage in hands-on exploration and research in the environment and in their communities.
