Established in 1989, the mission of the Cedar Park Neighbors Scholarship Committee is to recognize and encourage young adults living in the Cedar Park neighborhood of West Philadelphia who are committed to pursuing higher education and provide them with both mentorship and financial support to help them be successful in their post-secondary endeavors. CPN renamed this the Gary Bronson Memorial Scholarship in 2015 in honor of our visionary neighbor and friend, who founded this scholarship 35 years ago.

About

In 2023 we raised over $10,000 and funded nine students with cash scholarships of $1,000 each to help defray some of the incidental costs of attendance. During the school year the committee reaches out to the students via calls, emails and care packages at finals.
The committee raises funds through contributions from our neighbors and friends. Scholarship recipients are encouraged to reapply each year they are enrolled in post-secondary education and are also encouraged to participate in neighborhood activities.

Donations 

Donation to the Scholarship Committee go directly to our recipients through scholarship funds, care packages during finals, and receptions. Any amount helps! Donations are tax deductible to the full extent of the law.
