Brian Booth grew up in Palos Verdes, attended Dapplegray Elementary, Miraleste Intermediate, and Palos Verdes High School. His passions were football and lacrosse. On his birthday in May of 2010, he was diagnosed with Ewing Sarcoma, a rare form of cancer. Brian fought an incredible battle for two years and did not let cancer stop him from enjoying his friends, family, or high school. Brian lost his battle with cancer in June of 2012. He came to school as often as he could, supported his football team on the sidelines, and was voted Homecoming Prince his sophomore year. The Be the Change Leadership class at Palos Verdes High School decided to hold an annual event in honor of Brian and all those who struggle with cancer.
The Ninth Annual “Sea King Remember the Tritons Walk and Festival” is in honor of Associate Principal Keely Hafer, who is currently battling Leukemia, and Coach Brian Edelman, who is fighting Stage 4 Colon Cancer. Funds will benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society which is working to find a cure for all cancers.
