THE MIRA CATALINA ELEMENTARY
PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION WELCOMES YOU TO THE
2017-2018 SCHOOL YEAR!

The Mira Catalina PTA is looking forward to a wonderful 2017-2018 school year! We have been working with Principal Brett Egan to pursue new events, assemblies, and programs to present this year. In addition, the PTA will be supporting numerous academic, artistic, environmental, and cultural programs and activities throughout the year, including:

Art at Your Fingertips (AAYF)
Garden Science and Nutrition
Assemblies
Field Trips
Spelling Bee
Talent Show
Science Fair
Green Week
Red/Yellow Ribbon Weeks
Classroom Supplies
Reflections Art Contest
Parents Night Out
Teacher Appreciation Events
And much more…

But none of this is possible without YOU! We need your time, both in the classroom and at events, and we need your financial support.

We offer many ways for you to be involved at Mira Catalina. From weekly library opportunities to AAYF docent positions to garden helpers, your time and energy directly impact Mira Catalina and our students. Please find a way to bring your energy, enthusiasm and talents to our school. Watch for classroom emails to detail how and when you can volunteer your time.

To support these programs the PTA will also be holding numerous fundraisers that range from passive (Whale of a Donation, AmazonSmile) to active (Fun Run). We need your donations to assure that we can meet the needs of our students and staff. As a nonprofit, we invite you to review the details of our budget and operations.

The PTA General Assembly meets once each month and you are encouraged to attend, whether or not you join the PTA. Meetings are child-friendly and there will be coffee and light breakfast items. Please attend to learn more about what the PTA does and how you can contribute.

Thank you for making this a “Whale of a Community” for our families, students, and staff!

Warmly,
