| HAVE CONTACTS? WEAR GLASSES? GET YOUR EYES CHECKED?
If you wear contacts, have glasses or see an eye doctor, we can use your help with promoting NOKAN 2018. Just contact Cathy Lemon at 816 560-9025 or cathylemon520@gmail.com and tell her your doctor’s name and the name of his or her office. Cathy will email you a personalized letter for you to give to your eye doctor’s office. We will also give you another letter with all the information you need to pass on about NOKAN 2018 (Night of Knowledge and Nonsense.) These personal letters from DG’s throughout KC should help us increase our attendance and sponsorships at our fundraiser in April. Here’s an idea of the type of letter you would give your eye doctor:
Won’t you consider saying, “I CAN…Contact My Eye Doctor… for NOKAN.”
There are lots of ways to help. If you want more information, please contact Cathy Lemon at 816 560-9025 or cathylemon520@gmail.com.

The women of Mu Chapter of Delta Gamma started off November with our annual Lectureship in Values and Ethics presentation by Daymond John, who is an investor on the television series “Shark Tank”. He shared his humble beginnings, and how to succeed, no matter your path in life. We were thrilled with his visit to our house for a dessert reception and photos with our members, alumnae, and our sponsors. Since 1996, we have had 23 different speakers, and we are very proud to be one of only 21 chapters who have Lectureships! We are extremely grateful for the members who serve on the Committee; specifically for those from the Kansas City area: Lucinda Rice-Petrie (M), Chairman, and Debbie Bertram Link (M), Decade Chairman. Their hard work and devotion resulted in yet another hugely successful Lectureship. We also appreciate those of you who support us by making the trip each year!
The next week was our annual Anchor Splash to raise funds for the Delta Gamma Foundation. As one of the premier philanthropy events on campus, we had a record number of fraternity and sorority teams participate in the “Plunge”, which included unique relays and hysterical synchronized swimming performances.
Following that, we had our ever popular Anchor Ball semi-formal. This provided a great opportunity for the members of the newly-initiated class to meet and socialize with our upperclassman.
Since then, we have elected and transitioned the new members of the Chapter Management Team and their Directors. It was great to see so many women pursue these leadership roles, and want to make a difference in our chapter. A huge shout out goes to the 2017 officers! We appreciate your dedication to Mu Chapter this past year.
The week before Thanksgiving, our cook prepared a traditional meal in order for members to give thanks for their sisters. In addition, groups of women hosted their own “Friendsgiving” dinner as another way to show appreciation for each other.
As I transition into my new role as VP: Programming, I want you to know how much I have enjoyed sharing our chapter news with you, and to say thank you for your constant support. It means so much to all of us! On behalf of our members, I wish you and yours a wonderful holiday season, and a Happy New Year! In the bonds, Hannah Harper, Mu Chapter director: alumnae relations.
