GENERAL BODY MEETING THIS MONTH!
PTA GENERAL BODY MEETING
Monday, October 16th, 6:00-7:30 pm
Salish Coast Elementary Get all your burning PTA questions answered at the first 2023-2024 general body meeting! There will be three of these meetings over the course of the school year, and they will rotate through the school campuses. (Each is for the whole district, even if it is not at the school you are affiliated with.) At this one, we will take some time to meet and mingle, talk about plans and goals for the year, learn how to join a committee, and take care of some member-involved business.
PTA Members, member-curious, and everyone else are welcome. We will offer childcare on site, as well as the option to attend via Zoom. Details, Zoom link, and agenda will be posted on our calendar on the Thursday before the meeting. Got burning questions now? Please email porttownsendpta@gmail.com!

COFFEE & CONVERSATION

These post-drop off kaffeeklatsches are a chance to hear from and talk with leadership about things going on at your school. The first one is tomorrow at Blue Heron! Next month, there will be one at Salish Coast. There will be another round in early 2024 and then one in the spring (all dates are listed on the PTA website calendar). 
NEWSY BITS
To quote the numerous children who rushed the mic as the event wound down, "Best. Party. Ever!" Thanks to everyone who helped make the Back-to-School Homecoming Ice Cream Social & DJ Dance Party a super fun success. We loved seeing so many families come and enjoy a beautiful Friday together. Extra big thanks to Elevated Ice Cream, the Rose Theater, Centrum, DJ Sam Force, the school staff who did extra to support the event, and the events committee and all volunteers who pitched in to organize, blow thousands of bubbles, and serve 700 ice cream cones!
The PTA was also happy to be able to help out at Port Townsend High School's Homecoming Dance by chaperoning and providing snacks. Thanks to our high school liaisons for organizing a robust volunteer corps to make sure kids had a great time and plenty of pizza! Have you had a chance to check out the PT PTA's new website? Let's work together to make being a part of the Port Townsend school community a multi-dimensionally great experience. How, you ask? There are several ways!
- Become a member (This one is important! A family membership is $25 for the school year, and we offer subsidized memberships if cost is a barrier in any way.)
- Join a committee (This one is also super important! This is where most of the magic happens. We have great committee chairs ready to lead the willing to soaring heights!)
- Make a donation (Always appreciated!)
- Come to a meeting or email porttownsendpta@gmail.com to learn more! (It's okay if you want to take it slow.)
Thank you! The PTA is here to help foster a community of engaged public school families that work together to provide resources and enrichment for our students and schools. We look forward to working together to support all grade levels at all four schools in the Port Townsend School District, as well as teachers, administrators and staff.
