MERR Celebrates World Oceans Day
June 6th-8th
Films, activities, art, and more, for all ages

Dear Members and Supporters,

We will be celebrating World Oceans Day June 6th-8th with our virtual event, which will include films, art and activities for all ages.  The highlight of our celebration will be the screening of the film The Adventures of Zack and Molly, followed by a Q&A with the filmmaker Jim Toomey, and Emily Davenport, oceanographer and outreach coordinator for ECOGIG.  Jim Toomey is a world renowned filmmaker, and the creator of the nationally syndicated comic strip Sherman's Lagoon.  Although suited for children 4th-8th grade, we welcome questions from all age groups.  We hope you will share this information with your children and grandchildren, and help them submit a question that we will read during the film events.  They should include their first name and their location with their question (see attachment for more details).  Feel free to submit your own questions as well!
Questions must be submitted by June 3rd, and can include questions for Jim about the film or his comic strip, and questions about ocean ecology.  Submit questions via this link for inclusion in our Q&A:  https://www.merrinstitute.org/wod-entry  Art entries may also be submitted through this link.

Art submissions and many more activities will be available for individuals, children and families during the weekend long event, so please visit our events page of our website at:  https://www.merrinstitute.org/wod2020
