Raccoon Run Wrap Up
Thank you all for making this 14th annual Raccoon Run another successful race! Over 300 runners, a looming balloon arch with raccoon ears, Rocky giving hugs, and lovely weather all made for a perfect race day through the neighborhood streets of Mantua.

Again, thank you to all who participated, donated, volunteered, cheered, and most of all supported Life with Cancer in memory of Mantua's teacher, Roberta Romano. The preliminary total to be donated to LWC is $7,000 which will help victims and their families with the challenges of cancer.

Here are some special winners:
For the 5K, Reuben Hemmerdinger and Daphne Felt placed 1st in the under 11 group, and Jack Lemiux and Jesse Silkowitz placed 1st in the 11-14 year old age group. For the Fun Run, 2nd grader Jack Garwood was the first to cross the finish line, followed closely by fellow 2nd grade classmate, Ansley Jones. The Awesome Class Participation Award goes to Ms Warner's 4th grade class with a special thanks to Ms. Warner for participating in the Run, which made the difference as she counted twice. The class wins a Pizza/Ice Cream celebration!

We’d also like to give a big thank you and congratulations to those who participated in the Pledge program and raised special donations to LWC. We will have those totals next week. Please turn in your pledge packets this week.

Thank you to Mrs. Fernandez, the PE staff, the front office staff, the Kids Care Club, the Woodson Young Hearts, the many volunteers, our sponsors, the runners, and everyone else who made this year's race a huge success! Check out www.raccoonrun.org for race results. See you in 2015!
