Kite-Making in Library on April 10th for Flying the Dragon Readers
Our very own Mantua librarian Mrs. Lorenzi will be the featured guest on Meet the Author (MTA), which will air live on April 23rd at 1:00 p.m. on Red Apple Channel 21. The MTA series promotes literacy and an interest in reading and writing by giving students direct access to authors who share their personal stories and offer writing tips.

In addition to being our librarian, Mrs. Lorenzi is the author of Flying the Dragon. The last scene takes place at the Cherry Blossom Kite Festival in Washington, DC. The MTA director had planned to film and interview Mantua students there; however, this year’s kite festival was canceled due to bad weather. In its place, the MTA program staff will be holding a kite-making/flying session after school at Mantua on Thursday, April 10th. All 4th grade Chat-and-Chew students who read Flying the Dragon have been invited to attend. Mrs. Lorenzi would also like to invite any other 4th-6th grade students who have read the book and would like to participate.

If your child would like to attend, please sign the permission slip found at http://mantuapta.org/documents/lorenzi.pdf and return it to the library by Wednesday, April 9th.

Thank You Mantua Staff
The PTA would like to thank the Mantua staff members who donated so generously of their time and talents to the Spring Fling Silent Auction this year. We raised over $3,300 on the Silent Auction alone!
